I agree that smoking is definetly a 'NO' amongst teenagers. It is because it is very harmful and can affect our health easily and worse still,it can lead to death! The story that MR Preston share with us about one of his friend died because of cancer and he was a heavy smoker was already clear enough that smoking really can lead to death.i believe that teenagers out there would'nt want to die fast right? And not forgetting, smoking does not only affect the smokers but also the passive smokers.I think teenagers like us is to young to smoke. Some smokes beacuse they want to,some been influence by their friends and also ppl surrounding them.Smokers did not think the consequences when they smoke especially teenagers smokers. When they smoke alot, they will fall ill and make trouble for their family.Usually all matters, involves family. Its a pity to burden our parents. We still young and there's no reason for us to smoke. We still can enjoy our life and also make our parents proud of us rather than burden them and also ourself. So yea i think smoking is a 'NO' to us..It's really a 'NO'!

I agree that smoking is definetly a "NO" amongst teenagers. It is really harmful and affect our health very badly with disease like "heart disease, stroke, cancer and bone loss" and it may also result in death!!! I seriously agree with what ROB CARTER said because he was a ex-smoker and he say's that once a smoker lights up a ciggarette it leaves no non-smoker a choice because the people who don't smoke cannot just leave the place where smokers are smoking because the world is full of people who smoke so there is no way to escape......... And I think before the government start trying to teach teenagers to stop smoking they should first stop selling ciggarette because if they stop selling it then there will be no way this silly teenagers can go and smoke so I think that not only should they stop teenagers but they should just stop selling ciggarette in the whole world............

Qi yao totally AGREE that smoking is definetly a 'NO' amongst teenagers !
The tobacco in the cigarette are real harmful and is a addictive drugs, and it can lead to dealth slowly and painfully, also, they are not just causing harm to themself BUT they are also causing harm to the people around them like passive smokers, they choose not to smoke as they are afraid that they will become their family burden but the passive smokers do have a chioce just like M R PRESTON says.Smoking also cause heart disease , stoke , cancer and osteoporosis.Don't just only think about yourself, just think that what if you fall sick, who are going to worry about you ? who are going to put everything down and be there for you untill you are recover ?I believe that the teenagers smokers doesn't want to let their love ones worry or become a burden to their family or friends right?so THINK TWICE BEFORE YOU ACT.

Smoking amongst youths are a definite NO. Especially in Singapore as more and more youth is hooked on smoking. It will be a shame if youth smoke cigarettes in public especially infront of tourists/foreigners. What will they say about youth in Singapore ? Am very sure that majority of youth have tried smoking , even one or two puffs. My dad smokes everyday, and i am known as the 'passive' smoker as i inhale foul air at home. Tried to avoid but can't. Since young, i've been exposed to these foul air created by smokers. But we can't only blame it on influence on the family , but to their peers too .Friends create a BIG influence on smoking. That is why we need to watch out for our friends. Again , I'd like to emphasised on exposure to cigarettes, 1 out of 5 % of us will get hooked on. This is a very hazardous thing as there are alot of effects on smoking . Such as : Cancer ,Stroke,Heart Disease,Lung Cancer and obstructive pulmonary disease

Smoking is definite "No" for teenagers because it bad for health i dislike smoker because i can't accept the smell of the smoke i think that there should be lesser area for smoker and smoking is harmful because the mixture of nicotine and carbon monoxide in each cigarette found in smoke temporarily increases heart rate and blood pressure making people feel ill.

Passive smoking is the inhalation of smoke, called secondhand smoke
(SHS) or environmental tobacco smoke (ETS), from tobacco products used by others. It occurs when tobacco smoke permeates any environment, causing its inhalation by people within that environment. Scientific evidence shows that exposure to secondhand tobacco smoke causes disease, disability, and death. The drugs is addictive too.
They think smoking is cool, harmless and make them feel relaxing. We can help them to curb smoking by giving fines for underage smoker, banning the sales on certain tobacco product, banning some places from selling them and lowering permitted tar and nicotine levels.Having tougher laws to curb the young from smoking. We need to approach them through their peers, and provide them with venues for social activities to express themselves so they won't resort to smoking in the future.

Yes, smoking is definitely a 'NO' to teenagers. it is addictive and teenagers tend to be addicted once tried. Teenagers tends to be influenced by their peers. Smoking is harmful to humans yet they persist on smoking. Smoking can cause stroke, cancer ,osteoporosis, bone loss and etc. The rate of teenagers smoking in Singapore is very high. Nowadays, you can see many teenagers out there smoking in the public without sense of belonging. Its tough to get teenagers to stop smoking as it is addictive. They didnt think of the costs they had spent just on tobacco products.

I agree that smoking is definetly a 'NO' amongst teenagers because it can cause them cancer, heart disease, stroke etc. It will also harm your family members or the people around you if they smell it because when they smell it they will also get cancer and they will die faster than the people who smoke . I am a secondhand smokers because almost all of my family member smoke. Some of the smokers think that smoking can help them to avoid stress and sadness but i don't think it can help them.

I don't like smoker because the smoke was smelly and harmful for the nonsmoker if he or she walk pass-by the smoker. Because it kill them slowly and painfully, its hazardous to the smokers and the lives and health of the nonsmoker has been devasted by second hand smoke.
So, i think don't start smoking is the best and stay away from the smokers (if can).

I disagree
I rather youngster smoke than doing crim outside, however it it also harmful too.But to care and concern to other people, goverment should open more smoking area for smokers. But its also the choice for smoker to continue smoking or not. Although smoking causes paying big amount of money but is youngster pay for their own but not with their parent money to me i think is totally ok. This what i saw and what i heard, my father started smoking at the age of 15 years old and my grandfather didnt scold him unless he work hard and pay for himself, as it is not a offence.

I think that its a definite no for and among youths and teenagers. Smoking is bad for ones health as it the cause of many diseases world-wide like heart disease, Stroke, lung cancer and many other types and kinds of cancer.
There are many different types and brands of cigarettes through out the globe. The most commons ones with youths and teenagers this days are hand-rolled cigarettes call bidi ,shisha also known as water-piping and if one smokes for a session its equilifent to smoking over a 100+ cigarettes at a go in the past rich people to smokes shisha very now and then, cigarillos and mini cigars.
All cigarettes have a few common point and it is very harmful to ones body and to those around them and also all cigarettes are made up of tobacco leaves which makes its very addictive when one gets addicted to it.
Most who take up smoking is either they are influence by their peers or by watching their family members who smokes. But some youths take up smoking as they think that its harmless and cool and some teenagers say it is just a social habit.
Almost world-wide cigarettes are sold everywhere expect for a place where people see it as the third world. The Himalayas the Kingdom of Bhuket.

It isn't right to smoke.
As smoking can cause five times to increases in the risk of dying from chronic bronchitis and emphysema, and a two time increase in deaths from diseases of the heart and coronary arteries. Smoking also increases the risk of stroke by 40-50% in men and 60% in women. Researchers have also proven that mothers who smoke while pregnant or before they got pregnant usually give birth to babies with birth defects, who are premature or are underweight. This is probably because of a decrease in blood flow to the placenta.
The risk of dying from lung cancer is 22 times higher for males, and 12 times higher for female smokers as oppose to nonsmokers. Additionally, smokers are at an increased risk for cancer of the larynx, oral cavity, esophagus, bladder, kidney and pancreas.

I agree that smoking is a definite 'NO' amongst youngsters. Some smoke when they are yong because they are curious when adults smoke infront of them. They will get more and addicted when they are older. And will regret because smoking can cause harmful disease to their body like: Lung Cancer, Stroke, heart disease etc. And they will harm the people around them, like 'passive smokers'. The 'passive smokers' will be more worse than the smokers. And not even they will become a burden to their family, but also 'passive smokers'. So quit smoking now. And never ever smoke again. :)

I strongly agree that smoking is a definite or should i say it is a big 'NO' amongst the youngsters. There are many reasons becuase i felt that smoking can ruins one life. It kills slowly, painfully not only those who choose to smoke, but also innocent ,the passive smokers who dont have any choice, will just have to follow suffer!
Also, the harmful effects such as heart disease, stroke, cancer. Do teenagers think of the consequences? They must think of the consequences when they smoke. They shouldnt only care whatthey will become or do in future. Instead they should think & care what will they become in future. What i would like to point out is this, what will their children think of them in future? Definitely, teenagers wouldnt want their children to follow suit with them isint it?
Simply say,you can lead to miserable life once you are too hooked to smkoing. And it may affect their studies if they smoke too much. Whats more, they are underage!
Therefore, STAY AWAY FROM SMOKING TEENAGERS! :DD

I really agree that smoking is a definite NO amongst teenagers because in my opinion, smoking only bring negative impacts in our lives. Smoking will only worsen our health instead, like being able to contract diseases such as lung cancer, heart attack and many more. Teenagers should avoid smoking because they will suffer at such an early age if they do so. Once teenagers start smoking, it will be hard for them to stop as it is very addictive and there is a tendency that they will find it harder to quit smoking. With this, teenagers would also not be able to concentrate on their studies because they would keep having the urge to smoke during school hours. This will result in falling grades in their studies. Smoking also may cause bad breaths and yellowed teeth and I am sure that teenagers who want to be cool and good-looking would not want such things to happen to them. In other words, teenagers should not even try to smoke in the very first place as it is BAD for HEALTH. And it is also BAD for ME and YOU!

I disagree what jacqueline say. Yes,we can help them to curb smoking but not giving fines for underage, banning the sales on certain tobacco product, banning some places from selling them and lowering permitted tar and nicotine levels. You can’t telling me that police go round to catch underage smoker so that to give them fines just like MRT giving fines for people who drink, eat and etc? And do you think they got so stupid to let police catch them smoking? You think police got so free to do it? And if you say not police, who is going to do so by giving fines to underage smoker? And banning sale on certain tobacco product, they are smart nowadays can use lot of way to try get it. Banning places from selling to them, you think some shopkeeper got money to earn don’t want to earn even know is illegal to sell to them? Lowering permitted tar and nicotine levels can help how much? It is the same still get harmful health. You say having tougher laws to curb the young from smoking but having them will it help and do you think those underage smoker will care the law? If they care, they shouldn't be starting to smoke already, what for to have tougher law? Helping them to curb it must use some way like visiting the counsellor, do more sports, gathering with friends/classmate more often, even can call the hotline for help and etc.But visiting the counsellor may not help much, cause they will still smoke,i think the best way is have more gathering with classmate/friends more often and other ways too. All the way you say it doesn’t help them at all for most of the teenager who smoke.

Fateh did like to say yes and no because i did have some points to write.
Firstly is NO because why is there a need for youngest smokers to smoke as it may affect them and have different kind of disease such as bone less, stroke etc. They must also know that it may affect their life and future.
Lastly for YES they smoke because they get peer pressure or seeing their parents smoking and they want to give it a try or they want to do it occasionally for fun.
Thats all for my comment!

I feel that smoking amoung youth is a definite 'No' because if youth smokes, they will be a bigger burden to their parents as the crigarettes nowadays are so expensive.Especially if they caught on smoking diseases like lung cancer, heart disease or even stroke.

They also will bring risk to ppl around them when they smoke as they will become passive smoker and will have a higher chance of catching those smoking diseases
